A shadow falls where light once played,
Dreams dissolve, their colors fade.
The heart, once buoyed by hope’s embrace,
Now bears the weight of an empty space.
The promise of dawn, a gilded lie,
Clouded by doubts that veil the sky.
Each step, a stone, unkind, unfair,
Leading to nowhere, yet everywhere.
Laughter echoes but feels misplaced,
Joy’s sweet nectar, a bitter taste.
The mirror reflects a questioning face—
Who am I in this hollowed space?
Yet in the shards of what might have been,
A whisper calls from deep within:
“To feel this ache is to know you’ve tried,
To risk the fall where the brave reside.”
So disappointment, though cruel, may teach,
That some stars lie beyond our reach.
But look again; the sky’s still vast,
And hope rebuilds what pain outlasts.
